A studio that builds the set first
Halo Hush Studios is a photography studio in Chennai, organised around one idea: the set matters as much as the camera. We design and construct a set for each booking and light it the day before the session — for newborns, milestones, cake smashes, maternity, families, ceremonies and weddings.
Most studios will tell you how many families they have photographed and how many awards they have collected. Those numbers tell you very little about whether your session will go well, so they are not on this site.
What is worth knowing is where the work actually goes. A session lasts an hour or two. The design and the build take considerably longer, and they are what decide whether the photographs are any good — a set assembled on the morning looks exactly like a set assembled on the morning, no matter who is holding the camera. It is also why we cannot take a themed booking for tomorrow, however much we would like the work.
The second thing is pace. Babies do not perform to a schedule, so ours is built around them: sessions timed against nap windows, generous slots, a dedicated handler alongside the photographer, and a free reschedule when a child is unwell or simply having a bad day. We would rather rebuild a set than photograph a distressed baby, and we say so on the phone before anyone has paid us anything.
We work with families who want something made for them rather than pulled off a shelf, and with families who are simply trying to get everybody in one photograph before another year passes. Both conversations start the same way: what is the occasion, how old is the child, and when.

What we are here to do
Make photographs a family will still want on the wall in fifteen years, on sets built properly enough that the picture holds up when you look closely at it.
How we want to be judged
By whether the session was calm, whether the gallery arrived when we said it would, and whether you would send a friend to us without hesitating.
What we hold to
Say what we would actually recommend. Never push on with a child who has had enough. Meet the delivery date. Ask before publishing a single image of your family.
Six commitments
Things we do, not things we claim. Hold us to them.
Free reschedule if the child is unwell
Babies get sick, teethe and have bad days. Move the session at any notice, at no cost. We would rather rebuild a set than photograph a distressed child.
Sets built before you arrive
Every themed set is constructed and lit the day before the session. Nothing is assembled while a family waits in reception.
Two people at every baby session
A photographer and a dedicated handler. Nobody is holding a camera and a child at the same time.
No composited newborn poses
We use settled, supported positions only. If a pose requires a baby to be balanced or held in place, we do not attempt it.
Your images are yours
Full personal-use rights on everything delivered. We ask separately, in writing, before using any image publicly — and no is a complete answer.
Delivery dates we actually meet
Highlights in 72 hours for events, full galleries within three weeks for sessions and six for weddings. If we are going to be late, you hear it from us first.
Ten themed sets
You can come and look at these. That is a more useful thing to judge us on than a page of statistics.
All themesWhat that looks like on the day
Built, not printed
Physical sets with real depth. A printed backdrop is flat and it photographs flat.
Two people, always
A photographer and a dedicated handler at every baby session. Nobody holds a camera and a child at once.
Paced by the child
Sessions scheduled around nap times, with slots long enough that a baby who needs twenty minutes gets them.
Safety over the shot
Settled posing only. Nothing suspended, nothing overhead, and no composites passed off as a single frame.
