What we would tell you about this set

This is the brightest set we own and it is unforgiving of dark clothing — a navy outfit against pale sand turns the child into a silhouette. Keep everything light and let the faces carry the frame.

FAQ

Beach & Shore — common questions

Which of the three beach backdrops will you use?+

We choose on the styling call once we know what the child is wearing. One is bright and open, one more muted, one has driftwood detail. Sending a photograph of the outfit makes that decision easy.

Is there real sand?+

A sand-textured floor mat rather than loose sand — it photographs the same and does not end up in a baby's eyes. It is brushed fresh between sessions.

Why do you insist on light clothing for this set?+

It is the brightest set we own. A navy outfit against pale sand turns the child into a silhouette, and recovering that in editing costs detail in the face. Light clothing keeps the exposure on the child.
